About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President, Communications to lead the development and execution of a strategic internal and external communications strategy. The successful candidate will be responsible for enhancing brand reputation, driving customer and employee engagement, and evolving the brand through earned media. This pivotal leadership role demands an innovative mindset to deliver cohesive, strategic, and impactful communication, ensuring a consistent and compelling brand voice across all channels. Key responsibilities include corporate messaging, media and influencer relations, crisis management, and internal communications to a large and diverse audience. The VP will also be tasked with leading a high-performing communications team, cultivating a culture of excellence, and collaborating cross-functionally to align all messaging. Applicants for the VP, Communications role at the company should have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field and at least 15 years' experience in corporate communications, public relations, or media relations, with a strong preference for those with a background in the retail or consumer goods industry. The role requires a proven track record in creating and executing large-scale communication programs, deep experience in labor and union communications, and the ability to manage multi-stakeholder programs. The ideal candidate will have strong writing, storytelling, and presentation skills, as well as a strong understanding of customer-centric communication and omnichannel retail strategies. Experience in crisis communication, and reputation management, and a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion are also essential. The VP will be expected to be a role model for the company's values and mission, and to work closely with senior executives to influence strategic initiatives.
