The Opportunity This position works out of our Menlo Park, CA location in the Structural Heart division. Structural Heart Business Mission: Why We Exist. Our business purpose is to restore health and improve quality of life by designing and providing device and management solutions for treating structural heart disease. As the Senior Manufacturing Process Engineer, you'll have the chance to be responsible for providing support to the Manufacturing organization to facilitate efficient operations within the production area, to optimize existing processes, and to ensure that production goals are met. You will monitor performance of equipment, machines, and tools and corrects equipment problems or process parameters that produce nonconforming products, low yields, or product quality issues. Interfaces with Quality and Research and Development organizations to integrate new products or processes into the existing manufacturing area. What You’ll Work On Gross Margin Initiatives based on technology focused opportunities Interacts cross functionally and with internal and external customers. Work with Product Development to ensure Design for Manufacturability Serves as a consultant for engineering or scientific interpretations and advice on significant matters. Develop and validate processes for manufacturing or testing of the product. Understands business environment and relates extensive knowledge of internal and external technological activities to trends. May lead a project team. Provides technical leadership to business units. Acts as a mentor to less-experienced staff and may provide work direction or supervise other technical employees. Exercises judgment independently. Plans and organizes project assignments of substantial variety and complexity. Initiates or maintains schedule for projects and project milestones. Establishes priorities of individual or project assignments. Selects methods and techniques to lead a project to completion. Erroneous decisions or recommendations would typically result in failure to achieve organizational objectives. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree preferably in Biomedical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related discipline or equivalent combination of education and work experience. Minimum 5 years manufacturing engineering experience Strong analytical, problem solving and project management skills Demonstrated leadership capability in team settings Ability to lead and motivate peers, drive change and problem solve with creativity. Ability to travel approximately 10%, including internationally.
