We’re a passionate team that values integrity, continuous learning, and the impact of our work. Requirements We’re looking for a Senior Client Accountant to join our growing team. In this role, you’ll lead the day-to-day accounting operations for a portfolio of nonprofit clients, serve as a strategic partner for financial clarity, and mentor junior team members. You’ll work closely with clients to ensure timely, accurate, and actionable financial reporting that supports their mission and decision-making. What You’ll Do Lead accounting operations for your client portfolio, including oversight of AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger activities. Serve as the main point of contact for client communication—building trust through proactive, responsive, and high-quality service. Manage and deliver accurate monthly close processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses. Prepare and review financial statements, board reports, grant tracking schedules, and cash flow forecasts. Collaborate with clients to support annual audits, 990 filings, and funder reporting requirements. Ensure compliance with client-specific regulatory and internal controls. Provide strategic financial insights to support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning. Supervise and support Associates and Bookkeepers, including review of their work and mentoring on best practices. Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) and contribute to internal process improvements. Take ownership of special projects and cross-functional initiatives as assigned. What You Bring A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CPA-track preferred). 3–5 years of experience in nonprofit accounting or client services; public accounting or CAS experience is a plus. Strong proficiency with accounting tools such as QuickBooks Online, Sage Intacct, and Microsoft Excel. Excellent communication, project management, and client relationship skills. Ability to lead multiple engagements with exceptional attention to detail and time management. A growth mindset with a desire to continuously improve systems, skills, and services.
