Job Description

Summary: Responsible for developing, designing, and implementing process improvements throughout the production facilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Collect and record production metrics, prepare reports, and provide recommendations for process improvements.
• Evaluate and improve manufacturing processes, preventative maintenance procedures and ensure equipment is running at optimal efficiency.
• Maintain reliable and safe manufacturing systems while improving production rates, efficiency, yields, costs, and changeovers.
• Perform tests throughout stages of production to determine degree of control over process variables.
• Review product failure data, tests and analyses to troubleshoot problems.
• Design and modify equipment to correct performance issues.
• Investigate and evaluate new and existing manufacturing technology.
• Introduce new automation to improve manufacturing methods.
• Support R&D and Engineering with process & test development, prototyping, design verification, SPC process optimization & validation (IQ, OQ, PQ), and failure modes effect analysis (FMEA).
• Provides thorough instructions for successful implementation of process changes and for existing work instructions.
• Lead cross-functional teams throughout the organization to objectively assess and improve process performance.
• Ensure proper training of personnel and maintain qualified personnel to support a continuous improvement culture.
• Perform all other duties assigned.

Qualification Requirements: Must be able to perform each duty outlined above and possess the education, skills, and abilities described in this job description.

Education and/or Experience: A Bachelor or Master of Science degree in a mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, automation or robotics engineering discipline with three or more years of hands-on process engineering experience in a factory environment.

Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents (such as general business reports, scientific and technical journals, and/or procedures, and AMC policy and regulations) and ability to write and effectively present information and responses to questions from managers, clients, customers, and employees.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply advanced math concepts (such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations and permutations) and ability to apply mathematical operators to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory and factor analysis.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to identify problems and review relevant information to evaluate options and develop solutions.

Certificate, Licenses, Registrations: N/A.

Physical Requirements:

• Constant use of hands and arms.
• Good vision, depth perception, hearing and speech.
• Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds (up to 3 feet high) 2 times a day.

Environmental Conditions: Majority of time is spent indoors with few to any changes in temperature. Due to the nature of the position, proximity to heavy machinery, moving equipment parts and the noise generated must not be an issue.

Other Skills/Abilities:

• Experience in robotics, vision systems and automation is desired.
• Experience with AutoCAD or other CAD programs is desired.
• Microsoft computer programs proficiency required (Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Word).
