SmartHire is looking for an IT Manager to join our client in Shelton WA. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3+ years of Management and 5 years of experience supporting, implementing, and optimizing clinical applications, including EHR systems, experience within the healthcare environment, a degree in healthcare informatics, Computer Science, Health Information Technology or similar and high level technical proficiency.

 

Salary:

$80-$120 an hour DOE

 

 

Schedule:

Monday – Friday 8-5 

 

 

NATURE OF WORK:

The IT Manager serves as the primary liaison between clinical teams and the IT department, ensuring the effective implementation, support, and optimization of clinical applications, including Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems. This role involves collaboration with healthcare providers, staff, and external vendors to deliver seamless technology solutions that enhance patient care and workflow efficiency. 

 

REPRESENTATIVE JOB DUTIES

Clinical Application Support: 

· Oversee the daily operation and support of clinical applications, including EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Greenway, Dentrix, or Cerner). 

· Making sure we are on the most updated versions released.

· Serve as the primary contact for troubleshooting, resolving system issues, and escalating unresolved problems to vendors or advanced support teams. 

Implementation and Training: 

· Collaborate with clinical teams and IT staff to implement new software, upgrades, and modules. 

· Develop and conduct training sessions for end-users on clinical applications and ensure successful adoption of new workflows. 

Workflow Optimization

· Analyze clinical workflows and recommend improvements to align with technology solutions. 

· Collaborate with healthcare staff to ensure clinical applications meet operational and compliance requirements. 

System Maintenance and Reporting: 

· Monitor system performance, identify potential issues, and ensure system updates and backups are performed regularly. 

· Generate and customize reports from clinical systems for performance metrics, compliance, and decision-making. 

Compliance and Security: 

· Ensure all clinical applications comply with HIPAA regulations and organizational data security policies. 

· Work with the IT security team to implement and maintain robust access controls and audit trails. 

 

Vendor and Stakeholder Coordination: 

· Act as the primary liaison with application vendors for updates, customizations, and support. 

· Communicate technical information effectively to non-technical staff, including providers and management. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: 

· Bachelor's degree in healthcare informatics, Computer Science, Health Information Technology, or a related field. 

· Equivalent work experience may be considered. 

Experience: 

· 3+ years of management experience

· 5+ years of experience supporting, implementing, and optimizing clinical applications, including EHR systems (experience with Greenway, Citrix, Dentrix and Mipacs (preferred). 

· Previous experience in a healthcare environment with an understanding of clinical workflows and terminology. 

Technical Skills: 

· Proficiency in administering, configuring, and troubleshooting EHR platforms. 

· Knowledge of database systems, reporting tools, and system integration methods. 

· Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and healthcare data security standards. 

Soft Skills: 

· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. 

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments. 

· Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

· Certifications in relevant clinical applications (e.g., Greenway Health Certified Trainer, or equivalent). 

· Experience working with telehealth solutions or other emerging healthcare technologies.
