Electrical Controls Engineer

Location: Bensalem, PA (On-site)

Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Role:

We are seeking a Electrical Controls Engineer to join our dynamic team in Bensalem, PA . In this hands-on, in-person role, youll bridge technical gaps between sales and engineering throughout the project lifecyclefrom concept and estimate to design and implementation. Youll work on everything from basic control panels to complete safety and automation systems across a variety of industries.

This role offers the opportunity to be involved in design, programming, installation, and startup , as well as contribute to estimating, quoting, and project management .

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop new or existing electrical control systems
• Generate wiring diagrams and panel layouts (AutoCAD Electrical)
• Write and program PLCs and HMIs (Omron, Phoenix, Rexroth Control X+)
• Support sales with estimates and technical proposals
• Project manage small to midsize automation/safety projects
• Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, operations, production, and service teams
• Support field installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and training
• Mentor other engineers and provide technical guidance
• Ensure compliance with safety and electrical codes (NFPA, OSHA, ISO, etc.)
• Maintain documentation and contribute to process improvements

Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in Electrical or Safety Engineering (or equivalent experience)
• 8+ years in controls/integration engineering (or combined education/experience)
• Strong experience in PLC/HMI programming and system integration
• Familiarity with industrial safety equipment (light curtains, safety PLCs, FGRs)
• Knowledge of relevant codes/standards: ISO 13849, NFPA 70/79, UL508A, CE, ATEX
• Experience with estimating, quoting, and managing engineered systems
• Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Experience:

• Designing turn-key safety automation and conveyor systems
• Working in ISO environments
• Applying OSHA, NEC, and international safety standards
• Collaborating with multi-disciplinary engineering teams
