Cost Accountant Project

Summary

This is a 6-8 week long project to eliminate the company backlog of Engineering Rate Changes (ERCs). This involves setting the standard cost for new products, as well as recalculating the standard cost on parts that receive changes to their bill of materials (BOM) or operations. This would require you to work closely with engineering and purchasing to understand the changes to the BOM and operations. You will also need to work with sales to discuss the possibility of passing on any of these increases to the customer in the form of price increases.

Expected hours: 15-18 hours per week

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience

• Associate’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 2–4 years of cost accounting or manufacturing finance experience required; manufacturing industry experience strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory accounting.

Skills & Competencies

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP/accounting systems (experience with job cost modules a plus).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
