Bankruptcy Associate Attorney - Boston or New York Salary: $290,000 - $390,000 per year Posted: July 11 2025 Relocation Assistance: Available BANKRUPTCY & RESTRUCTURING ASSOCIATE ATTORNEY / MID- TO SENIOR-LEVEL Locations: Boston, MA or New York, NY Our client, a premier AmLaw 50 firm, is seeking a skilled Associate Attorney to join its distinguished Bankruptcy & Business Reorganization Practice Group in Boston or New York . This opportunity is ideal for a candidate with strong experience in restructuring and insolvency law who is eager to work alongside a deep bench of experienced attorneys in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Candidate Profile: JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record . Active Bar Admission in the relevant jurisdiction , in good standing. 4–7 years of substantive experience handling complex bankruptcy and restructuring matters, preferably at an AmLaw 100 firm . Demonstrated experience representing stakeholders in Chapter 11 proceedings , including debtors, secured and unsecured creditors, bondholder groups, indenture trustees, collateral agents, bidders, trustees, and plan administrators. Strong background drafting and negotiating key bankruptcy documents , including motions, pleadings, sale orders, forbearance agreements, settlement agreements, bidding procedures, asset purchase agreements, and plans of reorganization. Proven ability to argue motions in court , attend evidentiary hearings , and manage matters from inception through resolution . Experience with corporate trust and intercreditor issues , distressed transactions , and cross-border matters . Interest in working in the following areas is advantageous : Distressed Healthcare, Senior Living, Education, Manufacturing, and/or Working with Indenture Trustees, Collateral Agents, Bondholders, and Tax-Advantaged Investors. Judicial clerkship experience with a U.S. Bankruptcy Court or other federal court is a plus , but not required. Soft Skills: Strong writing, research, oral advocacy, and interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate has aproactive, team-oriented mindset and the ability to work effectively with colleagues across offices. Key Responsibilities Represent clients in all aspects of bankruptcy proceedings and business reorganizations . Draft and argue motions before bankruptcy and federal courts . Negotiate and document restructuring transactions , including asset sales, plans, and financing arrangements. Provide counsel on distressed situations across sectors, including healthcare, education, senior living, and manufacturing. Collaborate closely with attorneys across the firm’s national bankruptcy group, contributing to both litigation and transactional aspects of client matters. Engage with clients and opposing counsel to craft strategic solutions to complex restructuring challenges. Why Join Us?
